Bellator 106 was the most watched MMA event on television this Fall (so far)

Ah, so this is why Bellator has vehemently been trying to hold on to Eddie Alvarez as long as possible.

Just minutes ago Bellator issued a release of the official viewership numbers from last weekend’s event and 1.1 million viewers tuned in with a peak of 1.4 million during the Eddie Alvarez vs. Michael Chandler bout. According to Bellator, it was also number two ranked in cable during their timeslot of men 18-49. Apparently when you hit 50, television networks stop catering to you. Bummer.

We’re assuming that when Eddie Alvarez vs. Michael Chander III goes down next year, we will see those same numbers. Oh, and let’s be honest — were Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz even needed?
