Unfortunately, Belal Muhammad will not be competing at UFC 310
On Thursday, it was announced that Muhammad’s first welterweight title defense scheduled for December 7 against Shavkat Rakhmonov was officially off after ‘Remember The Name’ suffered a nasty bone infection that will require weeks of antibiotic treatment to repair.
“Caught a bone infection in my foot .. had to put a picc line in my arm for iv antibiotics the next 6 weeks with no physical activity … Allahs plan is the best plan I’m sorry to everyone that were coming to see me Ill be back soon inshAllah,” Muhammed revealed on X.

Not long after the news broke, Conor McGregor replied to Muhammad’s post with a pair of laughing emojis.

Keep in mind that McGregor is the same man who bowed out of UFC 303 due to a broken pinky toe. Take a moment to soak in that irony.
Belal Muhammad Snaps Back at ‘Mystic Mac’
Of course, McGregor quickly deleted his post, but that didn’t stop Muhammad from getting wind of it and snapping back against the former champ-champ.
“I have this for antibiotics.. you use needles because you are junkie .. we are not the same,” Muhammad wrote in response to the Irishman.

Despite the recent setback, we’re willing to bet Belal Muhammad will still fight before McGregor does.
Muhammad won the welterweight world title at UFC 304 via a decisive unanimous decision victory over Leon Edwards in Manchester. With the champ laid up and not expected to return until sometime in 2025, rumors are circulating that Shavkat Rakhmonov could compete for an interim welterweight title against another former 170-pound titleholder at UFC 310—Kamaru Usman.
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has not competed since October 2023 when he suffered his third straight loss at the hands of unbeaten Chechen monster Khamzat Chimaev. Since then, Usman has been looking for an opportunity to slide back into a title opportunity without having to do much work down the rankings.
Muhammad’s injury could very well be that opportunity.
