Belal Muhammad didn’t hold back after Sean Strickland’s defeat at UFC 312. The welterweight champion took to social media to express his frustration with Strickland’s lackluster performance against Dricus Du Plessis. Strickland, who had earned a rematch after his win over Paulo Costa, failed to reclaim the middleweight belt, and Muhammad was quick to voice his thoughts.
Muhammad’s Frustration With Strickland
“What did we learn? I say we learned that ‘Bully’ is always right. I’ve been saying forever. Sean sucks. He’s trash. He talks a big game, but he never walks.”
He also addressed Strickland’s fanbase, claiming that many overhype him as one of the best in the sport. Muhammad remarked,
“Even to the fans that sit there and hype him up like he’s the best boxer, the best boxing defense, this and that.”

Criticism of Strickland’s Fighting Style
Muhammad continued to criticize Strickland’s fighting style, accusing him of not living up to the tough persona he often portrays.
“He’s going to go to war and kill. ‘I would bleed for my fans. I would die for my fans.’ Blah blah blah. But you go out there and he just jabs and teeps and fights like a scared little girl.”
The criticism didn’t stop there. Muhammad went on to explain how Strickland’s reluctance to take risks in the octagon was evident during the fight.
“He doesn’t want to get hit. Even when you’re down four rounds, he doesn’t go all out. He doesn’t have it in him unless it’s five seconds left in the fight and he wants to yell and have that highlight reel and wants people to say that he’s crazy, he’s nuts. He’s not. He’s just a racist little clown that’s hiding in the body of a fighter.”
Muhammad wrapped up his rant with one last jab at Strickland’s career, stating:
“He sucks. Finally, we get to get rid of giving this guy undeserved title shots.”
It’s clear that Muhammad’s words are meant to fuel the rivalry between him and Strickland, and the tension between the two fighters shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.
