‘There are times when you’ll need someone, I will be by your side. There is a light that shines, special for you…’ This hook from the song, ‘The Light’ by Common autoplays in my brain everytime I see Anderson Silva fight. I don’t know why. Those lyrics by themselves sound like someone is singing about a guardian angel watching over us, always there to deliver us from and protect us from evil opposing forces. Ando fights also make me have visions of the Christ the Redeemer statue coming to life and taking on the physical form of a glowing Anderson Silva atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking all of the world below.
Does this imagery and soundtrack my mind creates indicate I believe Ando to be some sort of overlord or savior and protector of MMA? I don’t know, maybe I just take in entirely too much caffeine. Whatever it means it is quite a vision to behold and I wish I could record and upload the vision to youtube to share it with all of you. I can’t do that though, so instead I will share with you this tribute compilation video made by an apostle of MMA videos named LeGuardian.
