Before Tim Sylvia fights in ONE FC, let’s go back to his UFC title days with Miletich, Lindland and wieners

The date was February 28, 2003 and Tim Sylvia would be preparing backstage for his UFC 41 title bought against 14-1 champ Ricco Rodriguez with members of the famed Miletich camp. Sylvia was 14-0 and the 27-year-old would be making his way down the aisle to cement his legacy in the fighting game by capturing the UFC heavyweight title – there is no more prestigious oversized gold belt in all of combat sports.

Little did anyone know on that fateful night that Miletich would be shouting words of encouragement to the Maine-iac while eating multiple hot dogs and other delicious snacks. A Miletich fumble, a miscommunication between Tony Fryklund and Matt Lindland that would lead to a comedic situation worthy of a dead audience laugh track and a cut to commercial break later, and Tim Sylvia would be on his way to UFC gold.
