As expected, someone got brutally knocked out in the JDS/Mark Hunt fight…

We get so much flack on a weekly basis by ‘putting spoilers in the headlines’ that I figured I would be vague for this one fight. The mystery is added when you KNOW coming into this fight JDS has never been knocked out and only Melvin Manhoef, the man with the highest knockout rate in MMA, has been able to put the lights out on Mark Hunt… But…

BAM!

And that’s how the #RallyForMarkHunt era ends. JDS has officially derailed the frate trane that was the Super Samoan with one swift spinning heel kick at the end of the third round in what was one of the best heavyweight fights in recent memory. Every single exchange had me grabbing my desk and nearly flipping it with every shot. This fight was a perfect example of why heavyweights are so friggin’ popular, these two fought in the Octagon how you imagined those battles between The Thing and Incredible Hulk would in real life. It was like you could feel every single punch thrown and shockwaves shook the earth around them. I felt like my shirt was flapping in the wind with each strike. My god, it hurt to watch this fight.

Props to Junior for being the second man to ever knock out Mark Hunt in an MMA competition. Not even Wanderlei Silva, Mousasi, Fedor, Overeem or Sean McCorkle couldn’t do that! Wow!
