Anthony Pettis says he likes taking belts from guys in their hometown

Anthony Pettis is a go-getter. He doesn’t sit at home in a big comfortable smooshy leather recliner, with his feet up eating cheese balls out of a massive plastic barrel and sipping on Capri Sun juice boxes while waiting for Joe Silva and Dana White to give him a fight. That’s your life-minus the call from Joe Silva and Dana White, of course. Pettis takes matters into his own hands and calls them up in the middle of post fight press conferences and tells them the fight he wants to take. He’s been asking for the fight with Ben Henderson for over a year and instead of continuing to wait on that he asks for another huge fight-this time with Jose Aldo. This time he’s getting the fight he asked for.

That shouldn’t be surprising to all of us, since according to this interview with MMAInterviews-Anthony Pettis says he is accustomed to coming in and taking and getting what he wants-even when it’s in a guy’s hometown. He took Ben Henderson’s belt at the final WEC in his hometown of Phoenix and now says he’s ready to go to Brazil and steal the belt from Jose Aldo on his home turf as well. Hide your belts guys, Pettis sounds overly anxious about coming to get them in this video. Enjoy! [Source]
