Anderson Silva will be on the cover of UFC Undisputed 3

After months of voting and deliberation, hope and change has finally come. THQ has officially announced the UFC Undisputed 3 cover fighter and it is none other than Anderson Silva. The Spider beat out the likes of GSP, Frankie Edgar, Jon Jones and Cain Velasquez to grace this iteration of the UFC simulation. Upon the announcement streamed live on UFCUndisputed.com, Dana White released a thousand doves and high school marching bands from the surrounding area choreagraphed a routine just for this special occasion as Anderson’s name was announced. It was grand.

I can’t say I was disappointed about the outcome, I will admit that I voted and I voted for Anderson. However I honestly thought Bones Jones or Cain was going to run away with it. As always when it comes to democratically voting for a cover athlete, my prediction was wrong.

“This is, for me, a big dream,” Silva said. “I’m so happy.”

Before the conspiracy theorists claim that the UFC cover is cursed and Ando will lose his belt soon, keep in mind Forrest Griffin lost his title before 09 launched and Brock defended his title against Shane Carwin after 2010 came out. So don’t think Anderson Silva has a cosmic force against him. He’s fine. The back cover of the box will predict a submission correctly though.
