Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort has been cancelled

Dust off your vinyl collection and throw on some Queen because another one bites the dust. Earlier this week, a lot of people loaded their shotguns and stuffed it directly in their mouth with the news the Brock Lesnar has pulled out of UFC 106 and the title defense was scrapped from the card. Today, Anderson Silva has confirmed he will not be fighting against Vitor Belfort at their planned UFC 108 bout and instead he will be polishing off his blinged out UFC belt while his elbow recovers. Bummer. Check out what Silva’s trainer had to say about it.

“We have to wait and see…Anderson went back to Brazil, and he’s continuing his physical therapy there. But there’s no set date yet.”

“Anderson’s recovery is going really, really well…He’s coming back, and his recovery is doing really good. His physical therapy is going really well. He’s getting better range of motion. He’ll be back 100 percent for sure.”

To be fair, UFC 108 is already overflowing with rawesomeness. Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin, Evans vs. Thiago Silva, Gonzaga vs. Dos Santos…I’m pretty sure if Silva/Belfort was thrown in their,  the universe would have collapsed into a bowl of candy corn (or whatever the universe does when it collapses).
