Video: Anderson Silva Smashing Pads Ahead Of Israel Adesanya Match

Anderson Silva Demolishing Pads Heading Into UFC 234 Fight Against Israel Adesanya

Anderson Silva (34-8, 1 NC MMA, 17-4, 1 NC UFC) didn’t enter the Octagon since the win over Derek Brunson at UFC 208, on February 11, 2017.

“The Spider” was expected to meet Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212 on June 4, 2017, but Gastelum was pulled off because of a positive test on marijuana.

Silva’s bout versus Gastelum was rescheduled, and it was expected to take place November 25, 2017, at UFC Fight Night 122.

Yet, USADA flagged Silva on October 26, 2017, after his sample came out positive for methyltestosterone metabolites and hydrochlorothiazide.

Silva claimed he was innocent, saying positve results happened because of “contaminated supplements”. He received one year of retroactive suspension by USADA, which started on November 10, 2017.

The former Cage Rage and UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva is set to fight Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at the co-main event of UFC 234. The two will meet in Melbourne, Australia, on February 10, 2019.

Israel Adesanya is a former Glory Middleweight champion. An undefeated Nigerian-born New Zealander holds notable UFC wins over Brad Tavares and Derek Brunson.

It looks like Anderson Silva seriously prepares for a big comeback. This video was filmed at his Spider Kick gym in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.

“The Spider” first shows his submission skills and ground game, throws punches, then smashes pads delivering hard kicks and knees.

The Brazilian definitively looks ready. Silva Vs Adesanya is a collision of two fantastic stand-up specialists. Both fighters are known for lighting fast hands, fantastic kicks, and excellent slips.

What do you think, will Anderson Silva be the first man to defeat Israel Adesanya? Don’t forget the Brazilian trained with the only man who put the Nigerian-born New Zealander to sleep!
