Anderson Silva says Vitor Belfort was never his friend

I can finally tell people that Vitor Belfort and I have something in common. Those days of me not having any similarities with Vitor Belfort are over. Thank God. I can finally sleep well at night with the realization that Vitor Belfort and I are not friends with Anderson Silva. There’s one more thing I should throw in there. Just like Vitor, I will not be fighting Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title. After the cancellation of their UFC 112 bout, Tatame Magazine decided not to publish an interview that featured Anderson Silva making it abundantly clear that he is not a fan of Vitor Belfort.

“First thing, he (Belfort) was never my friend. Second, a fight is fight. I’m here to fight and whoever is better prepared will win and one of us will lose. I’d be upset if I had to face Rodrigo, Rogerio, Feijao, Lyoto or even Wanderlei or Shogun, but Vitor? He’s just another opponent like everyone else.”

Vitor has now been relegated to the ‘everyone else’ status, the same realm in which you inhabit. That means that if you walk down the street, your chances of seeing Vitor Belfort order a chai tea at Starbucks has increased exponentially. Props to JT42382 from The UG for this find. [Source]
