Anderson Silva says the concept of a superfight is ‘perfect bullsh**’

The only super fight that can necessarily be considered a ‘superfight’ is a bout between Batman vs. Superman — and there’s no comic book universe imaginable that says Batman will emerge victorious. Superman is a friggin’ alien that’s virtually invincible. Batman is a rich middle-aged dude that’s a recluse. It’s not even a contest. However the game Injustice: Gods Among Us wants us to believe that Batman is superior than Superman. Heck, according to the mechanics of that game, Aquaman is the greatest DC comic superhero imaginable.

MMA has its super fights, but recently we haven’t been able to see any due to a silly thing called ‘official rankings.’ In fact the last true super fight happened between Dan Henderson and Fedor back in Strikeforce. Anderson Silva wants you to believe that the entire concept of a superfight is ‘perfect bullsh**’ and he even says so in this GiveMeSport interview.

My opinion – the people always say ‘superfight, superfight’ but where are the chances for the new guys to come?

I’m ready for fight for Jon Jones, Georges St Pierre but in my academy, Minatouro, Glover and the other fighters in this class for Jon Jones. George St Pierre is a different class. I have my problems in my class.

Yeah it’s good for business but is no good for the other’s guy fight. I go to fight Georges St Pierre, he cuts up, I cut down. I finish the fight. I go to fight Jon Jones, I finish the fight. Who’s next? No have! My opinion, this is perfect bullshit.

Actually we have to give it up to Bellator. Rampage Jackson vs. Tito Ortiz is the quintessential definition of a superfight, and you’re lying to yourself if you deny this fact.
