BREAKING: Anderson Silva vs. Jared Cannonier Booked For Upcoming UFC 237 PPV Event

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva Will Face Jared Cannonier At UFC 237

That’s a quick turn around for legendary Anderson Silva.

Silva’s is coming off a decision loss to undefeated Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 234 pay-per-view (PPV) event which went down on Feb 10 in Melbourne, Australia. “Spider” didn’t do enough to get the nod but his performance was outstanding that leave fans and pundits wanting more from the Brazilian. Following his loss, Silva expressed his desire to rematch with Nick Diaz, but older Diaz said he’s not interested in fighting anyone.

Well, the all-time greatest fighter didn’t get his wish to fight Nick Diaz, but at least he’ll be competing at upcoming UFC 237 Pay-Per-View event against Jared Cannonier (11-4) on May 11 in Curitiba, Brazil. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto confirmed the news.

Later Combate reported that the event’s location changed from Curitiba to Rio de Janeiro.

Cannonier (11-4) last fought at UFC 230 where he scored a knockout win over David Branch, that victory snapped his two-fight losing streak.

For Jared, this will be his second bout at middleweight after dropping from 205-pound division.
