Anderson Silva is better at MMA than you will be at anything, ever

That’s it, you will never have to question Silva’s superiority over the human race ever again.

His genetics tower over most of humanity. Future biologists in the year 3030 will use strands of his facial hair in an attempt to replicate the greatness that was Anderson Silva. They will all fail and instead give rise to a race of beings called Morlocks that will dwell deep within the earth and only come out to kill another race of homo sapiens that live in paradise and bathe nearly naked in pools of pristine water. Wait, that’s not the future — it’s the storyline to H.G. Wells classic fiction, ‘The Time Machine.’ Damn, how did that get there. Perhaps H.G. Wells truly could see the future. Let’s create a fictionalized religion around his work and get some of the top Hollywood celebrities to believe in it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I could spend the next thousand years assembling letters into words and still not create a paragraph that will blow your mind as much as Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II did tonight at UFC 148. You have to admit it, folks. The entire MMA world collectively gasped that first ten seconds after the bell when Chael and Anderson rushed in the middle of the Octagon and Sonnen yanked the champion to the ground. Chances are you were probably on your feet as well. You weren’t alone. Literally every person in the entire MGM Grand Garden Arena stood up for the duration of the entire bout.

The first round represented everything you thought would happen in the rematch. Sonnen just imposed his will on Silva and immobilized his body for five minutes. The second round, however, Silva realized that he was the greatest of all time and put on a truly monumental performance to finish the fight via a stunning TKO. Some say it was an illegal knee that set off the chain of events. I looked at the tape and Silva appeared to land the strike to Sonnen’s body. Although, it was pretty bizarre how Anderson Silva grabbed on to Chael Sonnen’s shorts while they were standing.

Anderson Silva represents everything that has ever happened in MMA and will happen. Enjoy this time in the sport MMA fan, it’s the golden renaissance.

Now check out this crowd reaction video I took seconds after Anderson Silva successfully defend his belt against Chael Sonnen at UFC 148.
