Anderson Silva doesn’t think Chael Sonnen is that ‘evolved’

You don’t have to believe in the afterlife, string theory or the law of parsimony. However, you better believe that Chael Sonnen will be in Yushin Okami’s corner at UFC 137 against Anderson Silva. In fact, both Okami and Sonnen have already made a trip to Brazil a few weeks ago, and most of those infamous anti-Brazil tweets from Chael Sonnen were sent when he was in Brazil. We’re not sure who’s the more evolved fighter, but we do know that Chael Sonnen is partnering with MiddleEasy to create a line of signature baby onesie’s. On the other hand, Silva has been spotted with the Green MiddleEasy shirt. When it comes to evolution, I prefer to go with the creationist notion that both fighters were spawned from a volcano of awesome.

Check out this interview from GracieMag of Silva suggesting that Chael Sonnen just isn’t that evolved yet.

“Man, what can I say about him? All of us, as Brazilians, get upset by his attitudes. We respect Americans, Japanese; we respect everybody. We have a tradition in this sport dating back many years and it’s sad to see people not respecting that. But if they don’t respect you in one way, they will in another. We’ll show our hegemony, our strength and heart in another way. Unfortunately, there are people living in the first world who aren’t all that evolved. We have to show our intelligence, take in the good and filter out the bad.”

Hopefully we’ll get first dibs on Chael Sonnen’s response to this. ‘Hope’ being the operative word here. Similar to ‘Hope Solo‘ being the operative player in the USA Women’s World Cup game against Brazil. [Source]
