Anderson Silva Accepts Conor Mcgregor’s Challenge: ‘Let’s Make It Happen’
Former two division champion Conor Mcgregor is all over the place these days, as he’s making his long-awaited Octagon return to challenge undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main headliner of UFC 229 on October 6 from Las Vegas. This fight is expected to be the biggest in the history of UFC. off course sports famous star Mcgregor is looking for winning ways and ready to prove to people that he’s no.1 pound for pound fighter on the planet.
In his recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Mcgregor expressed his interest in throwing down with legendary Anderson Silva down the road. Those comments made their way to Silva, who happily accepts a super fight challenge from Irishman and said let’s make it happen via social media post.
“It would be an honor to test myself with Conor McGregor,” Silva wrote in Portuguese (Quote via MMA Fighting). “He’s an unorthodox fighter and has proven he must be respected. Let’s make it happen.
“The UFC wants superfights, I’m sure fans from all over the world want to see this fight. Professionally, I believe it would be incredible to test my martial arts abilities with a fighter like Conor McGregor in a true superfight. He’s focused on fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov now, after this fight I’m ready for this challenge. When and where he wants.”
Anderson Silva, 43, is eligible to make his return to Octagon this November, after wrapping up his one-year suspension with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Silva (34-8) didn’t fight since scoring a controversial decision win over Derek Brunson at the UFC 208 event in early 2017.
McGregor, who’s a former champion at 155 and 145 pounds and twice competed at welterweight, in a lucrative showdown with rival Nate Diaz.
By seeing the recent interests of both superstars, there could be a possibility, but time will tell if Irishman will make a jump up in division to fight the greatest of all time.
