Amru Magomedov kept the zero and put another PFL lightweight away before the last horn.
The promotion’s fighter page for Angel Alvarez lists Magomedov as the winner by TKO at 4:28 of round two at PFL New York. Alvarez’s page also moved him to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in PFL competition after the result.
The matchup had been positioned as a top-10 lightweight test on the New York main card. PFL’s card announcement listed Magomedov as the No. 10 lightweight at 10-0 before the bout, while Alvarez entered at 11-2.
Round-By-Round Details
Round one was Magomedov’s kicking round. He worked behind the jab, landed early low kicks, mixed in a front kick to the body and a short elbow in the clinch, then drove knees into Alvarez’s body. Alvarez did answer with a leg kick and traded in flurries, but Magomedov’s leg work had him limping before the horn.
Round two never got back to neutral for long. Magomedov opened with the jab and kept attacking Alvarez’s lead leg with inside and outside kicks. One kick knocked Alvarez off balance and to the floor, and Magomedov followed him down, shut off a single-leg attempt, advanced position and poured on punches, hammerfists and elbows.
The finish came in round two, not round three. Alvarez gave up his back during the late sequence, then Magomedov climbed to mount and kept punching until the referee stepped in at 4:28 of round two. The official method was TKO (punches).
The official weigh-in post had Magomedov at 155.6 pounds and Alvarez at 156.2 pounds. Once the cage closed, Magomedov turned that matchup into a second-round stoppage and stayed unbeaten at 11-0.

Magomedov Adds Another PFL Finish
The New York win followed Magomedov’s first PFL appearance earlier in 2026, when the promotion’s own fighter page lists him as stopping Kolton Englund by TKO at 0:37 of round one on Feb. 7. That gave him two PFL finishes in the same year before the summer series moved deeper into the lightweight picture.
Alvarez came in with a PFL win already on his ledger. His PFL profile lists a decision victory over Logan on May 2 before the July 31 loss to Magomedov. That made this a ranked lightweight check for Magomedov rather than just another unbeaten prospect fight.
PFL New York took place at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York, with Usman Nurmagomedov’s lightweight title defense against Archie Colgan at the top of the card and Dakota Ditcheva’s flyweight return in the co-main event. The card also landed two days after Most Valuable Promotions and PFL announced their merger.
For Magomedov, the result matters because the lightweight division now has another unbeaten name sitting under a champion who is already tied to a larger free-agency conversation. PFL’s post-merger push has leaned on roster depth, athlete movement, and big-name crossover attention, and Magomedov’s second 2026 finish gives the company a fresh lightweight result to place next to that bigger business week.
