The UFC is looking to book a title fight between UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and #3 ranked contender Raquel Pennington for UFC 224 in Brazil.
Cris “Cyborg” Justino, a women’s featherweight champion recently stepped up to help save the UFC 222 fight card and set to fight against newcomer Yana Kunitskaya. No worries, Cris Cyborg insists that she is still willing to fight Nunes maybe on the upcoming UFC 226 event on July 7.
That leaves Amanda Nunes open to a fight in her own division, and it seems the UFC is already in talks to make that happen. According to MMA Weekly’s Damon Martin, the UFC is targeting Nunes vs. Raquel Pennington for UFC 224 in Brazil.
Sources say Amanda Nunes vs. Raquel Pennington is being discussed currently…haven't heard a date but I'd assume UFC 224 in Brazil would be a likely landing spot. #UFC

Amanda Nunes has twice successfully defended her title, smashed Ronda Rousey at UFC 207. Nunes hasn’t stepped foot inside the UFC Octagon since defeating Valentina Shevchenko via split-decision at UFC 215 last September.
Nunes and Pennington were rumored to fight at UFC 217 last December; sadly, the bout was never booked due to a leg injury suffered by Pennington in an accident.
Raquel Pennington, she has won four in a row since losing a questionable decision to Holly Holm way back in 2015. She last fought in November of 2016 where she defeated the former champion, Miesha Tate.
Who do you think between them will come out on the top?
