Ali Abdelaziz thinks Colby Covington‘s antics outside the Octagon are due to him potentially struggling with his sexuality.

Ali Abdelaziz thinks Colby Covington is gay

Recently, Abdelaziz was a guest on the “Champ and The Tramp” podcast, co-hosted by former UFC bantamweight champion Frankie Edgar. During the interview, Colby Covington – who Abdelaziz has a history with – was mentioned. Abdelaziz began talking smack about Covington and his antics, that oftentimes land him in headlines. However, Abdelaziz says he believes Covington acts the way he does because he struggles with his sexuality.

“I think he’s so uncomfortable with himself,” Ali Abdelaziz said. “I think all this gimmick he’s doing – I don’t think he likes women. I truly believe this man does not like women. No. Hell no. If that’s what he likes (men) I don’t judge. Yeah, I think he’s gay. He’s the toughest, gayest mother f*cker on this planet.”

Abdelaziz and Covington have traded barbs at one another over the past several months. In fact, things nearly got physical in 2019 when the pair met in a buffet line at a casino hotel. Abdelaziz, who was being held back by UFC welterweight champion and client Kamaru Usman, hopped into the line and threw a punch at Covington. The duo were subsequently banned from the hotel.

Covington has competed against Abdelaziz’s client, Usman, twice. Both fights had UFC gold on the line, as “The Nigerian Nightmare” was defending his welterweight title. Their first encounter at UFC 245 in December of 2019. Usman won the fight via fifth round TKO.

They rematched this past November, going all five rounds, however, Usman again emerged victorious via unanimous decision. Given how dominant both men are at 170 pounds, it won’t be surprising if they end up meeting for a third time at some point down the road.
