Alexander Shlemenko says Russian fighters are the best and the Bellator title on the line tonight is already his

If you don’t know what it means to be Shlemenko’d then you need to make sure you tune in to Spike TV tonight for Bellator’s MiddleWeight World Championship at 8pm EST. The fight is between Maiquel Falcao and Alexander Shlemenko and it’s sure to include at least one or two instances of Shlemenkoing. Shlemenko love to throw spinning back anything and he’s an expert at it. So much of an expert that there should be a petition to change the name of a spinning backfist to a Shlemenko. If you ask Alexander about his expertise he will probably confidently agree. In fact he doesn’t only think he’s an expert fighter, but in a recent interview with USA Today – he stated he thinks Russians in general are better fighters than anyone on earth and the title he is fighting for tonight, basically already belongs to him.

“I will prove that Russian fighters are the best and the strongest fighters in the world, The Bellator middleweight championship belt is already mine. I’m just waiting for the moment to make it official.”

Shlemenko might be on to something there. All the best street mma videos seem to come out of Russia lately. We even briefly thought we should rename our’ A Lesson in Street MMA’ feature to ‘A Lesson in Russian Street MMA’. I’m just not sure if it’s the fighting or the fact that it’s always done to some really cheesy techno music that makes their street mma superior to ours though. There is sure to be some superior spinning sh%t tonight though, so make sure you tune is at 8pm EST to Spike TV. Check out the full fight card at Bellator.com [Source]
