Alexander Gustafsson is a viking who has come down from the mountains to fight

Andreas Michael (Gustafsson’s head trainer) says that Alexander Gustafsson is ‘a viking who has come down from the mountains to fight.‘ That statement makes his upcoming fight with Shogun Rua sound more like a battle from an episode of Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior than a modern day UFC fight. If he really is like a viking let’s hope he chooses to celebrate vikingdom by walking to the Octagon sporting a full beard, horned helmet and shield and dragging a wench behind him by her hair. If Gustafsson performed an amazing walkout like that at UFC on FOX 5, then maybe FOX would have to make the decision to start letting us see fighter walkouts again. We will just have to cross our fingers and hope it happens.

What we don’t have to cross our fingers and hope for though is a damn good fight. It’s Shogun and Gustafsson we are talking about-we already know we’re going to witness a battle of majestic proportions. Check out some behind the scenes footage of Gustafsson and his trainer talking to Kimura.se about training and preparing to knock Shogun out, viking style.
