The rematch did not last long.
Alexa Grasso walked into the rematch with Maycee Barber like someone who had already solved the puzzle once. Turns out, she still had the answer.
At UFC Seattle, this rematch was supposed to show how much Barber had improved since their first fight in 2021. Instead, it showed that Grasso still operates on a different level when they share the cage.
Rematch Starts Fast and Ends Faster
Referee Mike Beltran barely got going before the rematch turned into a disaster for Barber.
Barber pushed forward early in the rematch, trying to make it physical. Grasso stayed composed, picking her shots and waiting for the opening.
Then it came.
A sharp right hand landed clean in the rematch, dropping Barber instantly. No balance, no recovery. Just impact.
Grasso followed up immediately, locking in a choke during the rematch sequence, but it was already over. Barber was out cold before anything else could matter.
Rematch finished. No debate.
Same Result, Worse Outcome
Their first fight went to the judges. This rematch did not need them.
Barber entered the rematch riding a long win streak, with talks about title contention growing louder. But this rematch shut that down in seconds.
Grasso did not just win the rematch. She made it clear that the gap is still there.
