Alex Pereira has been quiet about facing Jon Jones in a big fight, but now he’s starting to think it might happen soon. He believes the showdown could be “inevitable,” even though Jon Jones has to first defend his heavyweight title against Tom Aspinall. After that, Pereira thinks nothing will stand in the way of the two fighters meeting in the ring.

Pereira Predicts Jon Jones Fight Will Be “Inevitable”

Alex Pereira is focused on his own fight with Magomed Ankalaev to defend his title, but he also thinks that after Jon Jones defends his heavyweight title, a fight between them could happen. Once the belts are unified, he feels it’s only a matter of time before they face off.

“I don’t know because he has to go through Aspinall first,” Pereira said yesterday at the World MMA Awards. “That’s his next challenge, but I think if he passes Tom Aspinall then it’s going to be inevitable.”

Alex Pereira knows that Tom Aspinall has been winning a lot since he joined the UFC. The only time things didn’t go well was when he got hurt during a fight with Curtis Blaydes. Other than that, Aspinall has won all his fights, mostly finishing them in the first round, and even the one fight that went into the second, he won.

Jon Jones has been thinking a lot about his next fight and has decided he’d rather face Alex Pereira than Tom Aspinall. Even though he’s starting to consider fighting Aspinall, Jon feels that beating Pereira would be a bigger achievement for his legacy at 37 years old.

Dana White has made it clear that Tom Aspinall is next in line for a fight with Jon Jones. Before we can see a showdown between Jones and Pereira, Aspinall must first face the heavyweight champ.
