Things got heated this week when Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill almost started a fight while training. Their coaches had to jump in and keep them apart before it got worse.
Pereira, the current light heavyweight champ, has been busy training for his next big match. People think he might fight Magomed Ankalaev, who’s been teasing him nonstop.
Meanwhile, Jamahal Hill has a big fight coming up against Jiří Procházka at UFC 311. If Hill wins in a big way, he could get another chance to face Pereira, and that’s made their rivalry even spicier.
The two fighters have been taking jabs at each other for months, starting after Hill joked about Pereira’s win at UFC 307. Pereira wasn’t happy and reminded Hill about their first fight. Now, the tension is through the roof.
Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill Separated at UFC PI After Heated Exchange and Glove Toss
At the UFC gym, Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill almost turned their practice session into a full-blown fight. It started out like a regular day, with Alex training on the mats. Jamahal walked over to talk, but things quickly got heated.
Out of nowhere, Alex tossed his gloves at Jamahal and even challenged him to fight. The coaches had to rush in and pull them apart before anything bad happened.
A video of the moment shows how close they came to fighting. Funny enough, just a few months ago, they were getting along fine at the same gym. Now, things have definitely changed.

After Alex won at UFC 300, Jamahal didn’t like the way Alex celebrated, and he promised to make Alex pay for it. But since that fight, Jamahal’s been injured and hasn’t fought. On the other hand, Alex kept his title by beating fighters like Procházka and Rountree Jr.
Jamahal got the light heavyweight belt by defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283, but had to give it up after an injury. Alex claimed the belt at UFC 295.
Now, after their tense moment at the UFC Performance Institute, it’s unclear what the next title fight will look like. One thing’s for sure, though, Alex and Jamahal are not ready to make peace anytime soon.
