Alex Pereira, the UFC’s two-division champion, made headlines after a training session in Florida went viral. The session gained attention when Pereira was challenged by a sparring partner and responded with a dominant display of striking.
Sparring Session Turns Brutal
Footage shared by Baba Buwaba on Instagram’s ‘Standupstriking’ shows Pereira facing an opponent reportedly named Neil. Early in the sparring, Pereira delivered repeated body shots that visibly affected his partner. As the session continued, Neil was urged to keep going, but Pereira’s precision and power ultimately led to a knockout from a headshot just as the buzzer sounded.
The video underscores Pereira’s timing, accuracy, and ability to control the pace even outside of a formal fight. Fans online quickly reacted to the clip, highlighting his striking dominance and readiness.
Pereira, known for ending Israel Adesanya’s long middleweight title reign in 2022, later moved to light-heavyweight and captured that championship as well. In 2024, he remained nearly unstoppable until losing the light-heavyweight belt to Magomed Ankalaev earlier this year. Pereira reclaimed the title in October, demonstrating his resilience and continued elite skill level.
The sparring session suggests that Pereira is maintaining form and preparation as he waits for his next official bout. With the UFC’s 2026 fight schedule still developing, fans are eager to see the two-division champion return to the octagon.
