Alex Pereira is back in the Octagon.
The former GLORY Kickboxing Champion would return at UFC Vegas 50 on Saturday. He’d battle Bruno Silva in his sequel UFC appearance, in what turned out to be a great fight.
It might not have been a highlight-reel knockout, like from his debut, but Pereira was still able to get the win. This time around, he’d get the job done by decision.
Round 1:
It was a super competitive first round between both Brazilians. Silva would get a takedown momentarily on Pereira, but the kickboxer made it back to his feet relatively quickly. In the remaining seconds of the opening round, Pereira would open up a can of punches. The flurry of strikes was enough to win Pereira the round.
Round 2:
The second round would feature an all-out battle on the feet. Silva built some momentum, taking the fight to Pereira with some striking of his own. It was much more competitive than the first round.
Round 3:
Come the last round, Silva would simply be no match for Pereira in the striking department. Pereira would rock Silva twice, absolutely unloading on strikes. For some reason Silva would not go down. They’d both make it the distance with Pereira getting the judges’ nod on all three scorecards.
Official result: Alex Pereira defeats Bruno Silva via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)
