Jose Aldo is down to fight Aljamain Sterling, and wants contracts drawn up pronto.
Sterling recently became the undisputed bantamweight champion following a split decision victory over Petr Yan in the UFC 273 co-headliner this past weekend.
Following the victory, Sterling not only talked up a potential fight with TJ Dillashaw next, but also mentioned names like Aldo and Dominick Cruz.
That certainly got Aldo’s attention as he took to Twitter to call on UFC president Dana White to draw up the contracts before Sterling changed his mind.
“@funkmasterMMA u said I would be next on merit and I’m here accepting your challenge, @danawhite send me the contract soon before he changes his mind!!”

Sterling would reply soon after by quote tweeting Aldo.
He also advised White to rewatch the first round as the latter felt the judges scored the fight wrong and that Yan should have won.
“.@danawhite Hey man, when are we having a sit down? We clearly have a lot to discuss… PS: Go watch the first round again. You are WRONG!”

Jose Aldo Has Path To Bantamweight Title
Of course, if Yan came out on top, it would have been hard for Aldo to get a title shot. After all, he was TKO’d by Yan in their vacant bantamweight title fight in July 2020.
However, Aldo has won three in a row since, and with Sterling now reigning as the champion, the Brazilian has a real chance of challenging for bantamweight gold again and becoming a two-weight champion.
That is, if Dillashaw doesn’t end up getting the nod.
