Alan Belcher can use both eyes and has been cleared to fight

I wish the snow in Chicago was coming down harder so I would have some sort of excuse for the foolish scene I just made in my apartment parking lot. I just arrived home from the store where I was stocking up on supplies in case our power goes out tomorrow (due to the massive snowstorm rolling across our country like angry elemental gods sparring in a BJJ tournament, treating the Midwest as their mat). I picked up a case of water, those really long matches, candles, firewood, canned food, a compass and couple Duraflames. As I was unpacking all of the flammable survival gear from my car in the cold night, I made out what looked like horrible jackal people sneering at me through the icy wetness flying through the air. My God, they were looking right at me. The only response I could muster in the direction of these creatures was kind of a half acknowledging shocked whimper “uuuhhhAHHHhhh” I thought the zombies were here for me at the worst possible time of year, winter. How sad is it that that was my first thought? “not during winter”. Give me a Spring invasion any day. Long story short, it was a Luna Bedding Experts van with a mural of a smiling family on the cusp of receiving a new orthopedic bed. By the time I realized this it was too late, and the people getting out of their car next to me probably thought I was completely insane for moaning at a parked van in the darkness. Needless to say I took my equipment and went inside.

The moral of the story is that you need unobstructed eyesight in order to do a lot of things in this world. Examples include flying for the Air force, not making a fool of yourself in front of your neighbors and fighting for the UFC. Now the previously blind in one eye, Alan Belcher will never have to worry about going through what I just endured, he has been cleared by his doctor and will make his return to the UFC soon! Belcher took to his official Twitter account today to break the good news:

Grats to Alan, who is bonded with Waachiim Spiritwolf and Joe Soto in ways we will never understand.
