Great Game From Al Iaquinta, Who Earns A Unanimous Decision Win Over Kevin Lee!
UFC On Fox 31 takes place tonight (Saturday, December 15, 2018), at the Fiserv Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The main event of the evening brings the Lightweight division fight, a rematch between Kevin “The Motown Phenom” Lee and “Raging” Al Iaquinta. The two already fought at UFC 169 on February 8, 2014, where Iaquinta won via unanimous decision.
Round 1
Body kick Lee, Iaquinta threatens with a single leg. Jab Lee, Iaquinta low kick. What a spinning back elbow by “Raging Al” but Kevin absorbs like a pro.
Body kick Al, straight punch Kevin. Left body kick, Iaquinta lands a straight left. Body blows, and now leg kick from Lee. Right hand Iaquinta, left hand Lee, good trade. Iaquinta feints a single-leg takedown then attacks with a punch.
Great body kick from Lee. 2-3 Iaquinta, and another feint to a single-leg takedown. Right hands on both sides, and head kick from Kevin Lee! Low kick exchange, Iaquinta looks for a right uppercut, eats a 1-2, but fires a left hook. Very tough to score, close fight.
Round 2
Early jab exchange, good right cross Lee. Overhand left Lee.
Lee shots in and drag the rival to the mat!
Right hands, looking for the back, now transits to full body triangle. Elbows and hammer-fists, but Al somehow managed to spin into guard. He stands up, what a match!!!
1-2-1 Iaquinta, jab, right hand to the body. Hook Iaquinta. Hard body kick by Lee, Iaquinta lands a body kick. Lee counters, Iaquinta returns, what a trade! I’d say, 10-9 Lee.
Round 3
Outside leg kick by Lee, now both fighters trade low kicks. Amazing counter left hook from Iaquinta. Lee delivers great body kick. Knee up in the middle, a slight miss from Kevin Lee. Iaquinta with two more rights, and again counter miss by Kevin Lee, who runs in on a single, then lands a left.
Lee gets a double leg takedown!
Iaquinta gets over to the fence, and now he is back on his feet. What a match! Lee still has that body lock but it doesn’t look tight. Lee pulls him away, takes him back to the ground, and takes his back. Body triangle is secured again, now it looks strong. Lee looks for a choke, but Iaquinta defends. Not much action in the last few seconds. I’d say, 10-9 Lee.
Round 4
Lee goes with a head kick, but it is blocked! Iaquinta defends with a tremendous right and backs his opponent away.
Lee looks wobbled!!!
Oh, yes he is! Iaquinta attacks him, now goes for an uppercut, and now right hook, straight right hand. Lee with an elbow, but Iaquinta replies with a head kick. “The Motown Phenom” is still on his feet, what is he made of?!
Low kick, and now jab. The situation calms down, fighters trade low kicks. Iaquinta with a great body strike.
Great right and now Lee’s face looks hurt.
Head kick Lee. Now another body kick! Inside leg kick from Al Iaquinta, what a great way to control the round. Iaquinta again delivers right hand, he definitively won this round. 10-9 Iaquinta.
Round 5
Lee with a right hand but Iaquinta responds. Lee shots in on a leg, and they go to the ground and back on their feet. Lee still has a single leg, Iaquinta fights it off. They’re stalemated, Iaquinta fights with his hands, what will happen next? Fighters separate, and Jab from Iaquinta.
“The Motown Phenom” lands a head kick now, but Iaquinta eats it and now returns with a brutal combo. Lee with a left, but Iaquinta replies with a huge combo. Lee looks hurt, he circles away and delivers a body kick. Iaquinta goes for a right over the top, Lee counters.
Huge right from Al Iaquinta and Lee looks stunned!!!
More strikes, and now front kick to the chin from Al Iaquinta, this had to hurt! Body kick, great right hook, what a punishment! Iaquinta just won’t stop, it is his round. 10-9 Iaquinta.

Final Result: Al Iaquinta defeats Kevin Lee via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46)
Kevin Lee drops to 17-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC, while Al Iaquinta improves the score to 14-4-1 MMA, 9-3 UFC.
