Adesanya vs Costa Alleged For Vegas PPV in March
Israel Adesanya’s incredible knockout victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 created a new superstar for the promotion to advertise. Not only was a star created, but the entire middleweight division is on it’s way to being mapped out. So much so, that Adesanya is already expected to have his first title defense against Paulo Costa this upcoming March in Las Vegas.
Both Adesanya and Costa have traded jabs back and forth with each other on social media. Trading shots between the pair go back for what seems like ages.

A Heated Rivalry
Costa believes that he’s had the harder route to contender-ship in the middleweight division. Previously, Costa noted that Yoel Romero is the toughest test in the division. Since Costa beat Romero, he believes that he is the best middleweight in the world. Additionally, Costa reiterates Izzy’s small frame and boring style are unimpressive.
On the other hand, Adesanya just displayed one of the best performances in his career to capturing the UFC middleweight championship. During the jabs at each other, Israel has speculated that he believes that Costa uses steroids, gasses easily, and has short arms.
Making the Matchup
While the bout hasn’t been made official, Adesanya spoke about Paulo during the UFC 243 post-fight press conference. In the interview, Israel stated:
”It’s basic (Costa’s fight style), but that’s not a bad thing,” Izzy said. “Basic is what my s**t is built on. Foundation. I just know how to work off my basics. He doesn’t.”
“Everyone he fights is a punching bag that’s just waiting there to get hit. And I can’t wait till I fight him. I’m not impressed, to be honest. I’m not impressed by your performance.”
