Israel Adesanya Fires Back At Chris Pratt Over UFC 276 Performance Criticism

Pratt was one of many who was not impressed by Adesanya's unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier this past weekend.

Israel Adesanya has clapped back at Hollywood star Chris Pratt.

Pratt — a longtime fan of the UFC — was in attendance at UFC 276 this past weekend that saw Adesanya outpoint Jared Cannonier in the headliner.

However, it was a rather dull affair with very little action as sections of the crowd were leaving mid-way during the fight.

By the end of the fight, the remaining crowd was pretty much silent with a small number of boos as Adesanya was declared the winner.

While nobody in the commentary team mentioned how drab the fight was, Pratt wasn’t afraid to in the post-fight show.

“Look, I’m going to say this as humbly as I can as a guy who has never stepped into the Octagon. I don’t know this game, I’m just an actor, man. But, I’m not a fan of coming out with all that talk and then putting on a little bit of pitter patter. I’m like ‘Come on, man! Cash on that!’

“You gotta cash that promise of being so bad ass. And I dunno. If I bet with my money, I would have bet Adesanya’d do something like that. But I was hoping to see Cannonier make it.”

Israel Adesanya: I’m The Man

Those comments didn’t please Adesanya one bit.

“The Last Stylebender” took to social media to fire back at Pratt using a clip from the latter’s 2008 movie Wanted where Pratt was smacked with a keyboard in one memorable scene.

“Good morning. 😊I’m the man. You’re just some fan.”

Of course, Adesanya himself basically alluded to the fight not going how he planned and that it was still a comfortable win for him on his worst night.

However, he will have to start delivering knockouts or at least memorable performances as he did in his quest to the middleweight crown if he wants to continue capturing the attention of the mainstream audience and casuals.
