Israel Adesanya didn’t hold back when talking about Jon Jones

The UFC Middleweight Champion has quite the history with the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Adesanya and Jones have went at each other on social media over the years. And it looks the rivalry isn’t going to die down anytime soon.

Most recently, Adesanya has been able to get the last word in when it comes to trash talk. He’d take some personal shots at ‘Bones’ on Valentine’s Day, insinuating he was hitting his (now former) fiance for the holiday.

‘I’m Glad That’s Not Me’

A month later, ‘The Last Stylebender’ would style on Jones once again, spewing words at him in a recent interview with TMZ. He’d bring up Jones’ latest arrest from September, where a video would surface of him headbutting a police car.

“I’m glad I can be invited to TMZ I’m not here getting looked up for the wrong reasons being put up on TMZ and some crazy video of me banging my head on a cop car or something crazy like that,” Adesanya referenced Jones. “I’m glad that’s not me. Aye, knock on wood. There’s still time.”

Adding On

Adesanya wasn’t done taking shots at Jon Jones. He’d later explain the origin of their beef, which he believes Jones started on the news platform.

“[Jones] is the one who started it [the beef] on TMZ. He put my name in his mouth first. He was a fan and then he realized there’s an opportunity there. You’re supposed to be the GOAT and you want to fight me? That shows me you think that I’m a threat.

“F*ck this c*nt,” Adesanya continued. “But hey, he needs to find himself first. Fight his demons, that’s the main thing he needs to be fighting. Go back to church. Phillipians 3:16 [4:13] or whatever it was. Go back to church.

Adesanya Wants Jones To Fight Francis Ngannou

Church isn’t the only thing Adesanya thinks Jones should go to. He thinks he should also go fight his friend, the UFC Heavyweight Champion of the world, while he’s at it.

Jones has been packing on some pounds but has not yet made his heavyweight debut yet. Let’s just say Adesanya is growing tired of Jones not going through with his word to fight at heavyweight.

“Go fight Francis [Ngannou]. I said I’m going to move up in weight, I did it the next year. He has said it since like 2013… bro, this is martial arts. If you’re the best, go prove you’re the best. This is the game we’re in. It’s not about size and this and that. I’ve even talked about going to heavyweight. I’ve done it in boxing, I’ve done it in kickboxing. There’s people I can take out at heavyweight.”

Adesanya vs. Jones?

Adesanya would then discuss a potential fight with Jones, one that seems far off from reality, but could happen someday. It’d have to be at 205lbs though, according to the middleweight king.

“We’ll see. Time will tell. I don’t need it but I do want it. I don’t need it though. That’s the thing, people think I need it for my legacy. Nah.

“I like light heavyweight. That’s where he was dominant, so I really want to take [that fight] at light heavyweight.
