Action Bronson had a very specific scouting report for Alex Pereira’s heavyweight build.
During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Bronson was asked about Pereira looking bigger as he moves toward heavyweight. Pereira is a former UFC middleweight champion, former two-time UFC light heavyweight champion, and one of the fastest two-division champions in UFC history. He is 13-3 overall in MMA and 10-2 in the UFC, with 11 of his 13 pro wins coming by knockout or TKO. After winning UFC titles at 185 and 205 pounds, Pereira is now preparing for a heavyweight jump that could put him across from former interim UFC heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane.
Bronson first pointed to Pereira’s added size.
“He’s looking thick, huh?” Bronson said. “He’s a massive man. He’s a massive man. He is.”
He then compared Pereira’s build to the kind of lower-body structure he associates with elite athletes.
“When I was in high school, they would always talk about the players who had that high ass,” Bronson said. “It’s like a runner. Bo Jackson, every athlete that’s elite has like the high ass, like a good fucking deer, you know. Like a horse, like a stallion. It sits way up on the torso. It helps for better athleticism. And you see that from him? Yes.”

Bronson Focuses On Pereira’s Heavyweight Frame
Bronson stayed on Pereira’s proportions while discussing the heavyweight move. Pereira has already won UFC titles at middleweight and light heavyweight. Heavyweight brings a different size range, especially against someone like Gane, whose game is built around movement, range, and kickboxing.
“Because half of his body is like, more than half of his body is his legs,” Bronson said. “It’s true. It’s true. He has a fucking long-ass leg and goes all the way in. His torso’s smaller, but that’s just, that’s good for pole vaulting. That’s also good for doing the track shit, like all track and field.”
Bronson also compared Pereira’s frame to the build he looks for in explosive football players.
“You always look at that,” Bronson said. “Any type of running back, you want that core middle stability where you could break down, stop and go fast. LaDainian Tomlinson, Barry Sanders.”
Pereira’s heavyweight move is significant because his UFC title wins came at 185 and 205 pounds. Gane brings heavyweight experience, former interim gold, and a striking-first style that would test whether Pereira can carry added size without losing the timing and power that made him one of the fastest two-division champions in UFC history.
The physical change has already been a major part of the build. Pereira’s heavyweight sparring clips have drawn scrutiny, and the potential Gane matchup has also brought outside analysis from names like Francis Ngannou. Bronson kept his focus on the frame, the legs, and whether Pereira’s added size still looks athletic.
