The first screenplay that I ever authored involved a group of friends sitting aboard a magical space rug piloted by a turkey in order to be flown to Turkey to take part in an underground simulation of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. The story ends with the world coming to an end but the friends surviving because the turkey wanted to preserve the American cultural tradition of Thanksgiving. It sounds like the most incoherent script in modern history, but it was purchased by a studio years ago — probably in an attempt to hold the crown for the most absurd screenplay purchase in America.
While that script was never produced (for the obvious reasons), my story of Turkish culture never quite covered the startling fact that the country is filled with femme fatales that have the ability to get out the shower and hand out an absolute BJJ beatdown on home invaders.
