  • Rodtang Jitmuangnon KO’d Takeru Segawa in the first round

Yuya Wakamatsu, Shinya Aoki and Rodtang Jitmuangnon all secured a spectacular victory in first-round fashion at ONE 172.

Yuya becomes the new champ

It took only less than one round for “Little Piranha” to become the new ONE flyweight champion as he finished Adriano Moraes in their epic rematch at ONE 172 in Japan. Wakamatsu came out scorching and landed a massive right hand and uppercut on the Brazilian.

The Japanese picked up where he left off after a clinch and hit Moraes with a flurry of combinations that led to a knockdown. Wakamatsu smelled blood and went on to crush Moraes until the referee stepped in to stop the fight at the 3:39 mark, declaring Wakamatsu as the winner via TKO.

Wakamatsu is now the new flyweight champion, a title vacated by Demetrious Johnson, and is now on a four-fight winning streak.

Aoki beats Folayang once again

Aoki and Folayang relived their old rivalry and faced each other for the fourth time. However, the outcome was the same as “Tobikan Judan” submitted “Landslide” via armbar in the first round once again, the same exact fashion he did in their third match in 2021.

In 2019, Aoki also submitted Folayang via Arm Triangle choke. The only match Folayan won was their first back in 2016 where the Filipino MMA legend TKO’d “Tobikan Judan.”

Rodtang with a first-round win

Rodtang did not disappoint as he pulled off a remarkable first-round KO win over Japanese kickboxing legend Segawa. The former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai champion only needed 80 seconds to get the job done as he unloaded a left hook and right straight combination that hurt “Natural Born Krusher.”

“The Iron Man” went on and landed more shots before capping it off with a devastating left hook finally took the hometown hero out in their epic kickboxing showdown.
