WWE2K14’s 30 Years of Wrestlemania Mode Looks Incredible

I’ve had a bit of a love-hate relationship when it comes to Yukes and their WWE games. The early Smackdown games were incredibly fun arcade games that were fun to play, but completely eclipsed by AKI’s incredible games like Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. I mean, No Mercy is one of those games that wrestling gamers still talk about to this day and still want to see gameplay like. That really is an incredible feat, isn’t it? The Smackdown series got a bit cumbersome for a while there, but the WWE ‘1X games have been a breath of fresh air for the series, something that hopefully WWE2K14 is able to be as well when it comes out this October.

Part of that is the new 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode which was announced last week, got a full roster reveal this weekend and got an awesome new trailer today. The roster alone is pretty incredible, as there will be a lot of legends mixed in, much like we saw last year with the inclusion of the Attitude Era. This year’s single player mode will be 30 Years of Wrestlemania, which will be a lot like the Attitude Era mode, which allowed you to relive classic moments from the Attitude Era by playing classic matches and achieving certain milestones in each match to make it just like the real thing.

It wasn’t as sloppy as some other games have been when recreating classic matches (I’m looking at you K-1 WGP 2001!) and doesn’t expect perfection, just to meet a few conditions with the look and feel from yesteryear. This time the focus will be on classic Wrestlemania moments, which everyone will be able to relate to. The new trailer that was released today does a pretty great job of getting you pumped up, or at least it got me pretty pumped up.
