This is the story of a man and his Ouya

You might know Rocco Botte from his Mega 64 fame, and you might know the Ouya… Well, to be honest, unless you’re a hardcore gamer, you probably have no idea what the Ouya is. The Ouya is a kickstarted handheld Android console that launched earlier this year for $100. After buying the console, Rocco posted this video of his first impressions. He was attempting to download Final Fantasy III, but it wasn’t downloading, it was stuck and wasn’t making any progress. Around 3 weeks later, he posted another video. In this, he turned it on for the first time in weeks and the console had an update. The only problem was that it wasn’t updating. The update was stuck and again the download wasn’t making any progress.

This is where things get interesting. A little more than two months later he posted another update. This time with the same exact problem: he attempted to download a game and it was stuck with the download not progressing. Although instead of asking the community for help, like he did in his past videos, he took his Ouya into the bathroom and he urinated on it and proceed to flush the toilet. The video got taken down from Youtube and was reuploaded onto Vimeo. After all of this, Ouya tech support finally got back to him after months of emails to them. Ironically, a few days after he urinated on the system. The email contained instructions on how to fix the console to get it up and running properly, but Rocco promptly emailed them back, informing them that because of the delay in communication, he had taken the console and urinated on it and provided the video as proof.

I think there is a lesson to be learned here, but I’m not exactly sure what it is, when I find out, I’ll make sure to get back to you.
