Left 4 Dead, when it was first released, was a tense, arcade shooter that was crafted by Valve with much love after noticing the huge support of Counter Strike’s zombie mod community. In the five years since it’s release, Valve has opened the books to the modders again, and now Left 4 Dead (or more specifically Left 4 Dead 2) is a veritable undead funhouse of the weird and weirder. Take this video of the latest mods to hit L4D 2’s Steam Workshop for example:
Now, you can turn zombies into kitties, the Boomer into the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and one of the main characters can have a skin that looks like the girl from Lollipop Chainsaw. Oh yeah, and you can kill those cats as a cheerleader with the Marshmallow Man chasing you while in slow motion.
Think about this for a second, let’s be aware of the fact that we are through the looking glass. One day, someone will look over your shoulder, and you’ll be shooting cats that are screaming like zombies as a Marshmallow Man throws up on your cheerleading outfit… In slow motion.
Weird.
