Telltale Games have been running with the torch handed to them by the old LucasArts team for a while now, with some hits and misses, some growing pains and everything else, but without doubt they have found their groove. The first season of The Walking Dead was enough to endear itself to gamers of all kinds and was really one of the better games of the last few years. Hell, the fact that adventure games are seeing a bit of a revival is just a dream come true for someone like me who grew up playing them.
Well, the rumor mill is a’churnin’ again, this time that Telltale’s next big series is going to be none other than Game of Thrones. For those that have somehow avoided the internet for the past few years, Game of Thrones is the wildly popular HBO series based on the “Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R.R. Martin. Game of Thrones is really one of the biggest and most exciting properties and has yet to see a game really do it justice. The pacing of an adventure game would work so well with the series, which focuses less on action and more on behind-the-curtain machinations of those in power of the Seven Kingdoms.
Telltale seems hesitant to confirm this news, but IGN seems pretty sure that this will indeed happen so keep your fingers crossed. [Source]
