Jaws Drop: TaleWorlds Releases First Dev Video For Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

As an avid player of Mount & Blade: Warband there is definitely a certain amount of anticipation over the upcoming Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Bannerlord has been in development since 2012 or so and is set to be the first “full” release from TaleWorlds since the 2008 Mount & Blade. Now, of course, there have been releases since then, including the 2010, mostly-multiplayer release of Warband (although it did add a faction to single player) and the 2011 expansion With Fire and Sword.

Basically, what I’m saying is; Warband looks like a game from 2008 and people still play it every day, there are competitive events ongoing right now to crown champions for Europe and America, people love the hell out of these games. Thus far we’ve had a few developer blogs from TaleWorlds in relation to Bannerlord, but just still images and words. Thankfully that all changed yesterday when they released their latest developer blog in video format.

What can we say? It looks amazing. The tail end of it is really the meat of the update, though, showing a rider on horseback and then showing brief glimpses of the famous swordplay mechanics in action. It serves as a nice jolt to fans who have been claiming that Bannerlord was “vaporware.”
