Cody Garbrandt is one of the most dangerous close range strikers in the UFC. His punches almost always find its mark when he is half-arm-length away from his opponent.
Cody Garbrandt uses Gennady Golovkin’s boxing style to his advantage in the UFC. He waits for the moment when his opponent tries to counter his left jab and hits the right hook to the chin. A right knee to the head off the clinch is also his ultimate weapon. On the ground, No Love maintains a dominant position and delivers an endless barrage of punches.

Cody Garbrandt had his MMA debut on 29th December 2012, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, against Charles Kessinger. He won with ease in the first round via TKO.
In the second fight, Shane Manley was knocked out in the first round too. This was Cody’s first and only Featherweight fight. In the next three fights, Cody Garbrandt was more than superior and he easily defeated Dominic Mazzotta, James Porter, and Charles Stanford via TKO. Cody signed for UFC in the fall of 2014.
Cody Garbrandt – UFC Career
Cody Garbrandt had his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage in UFC 182, on January 3, 2015. The fight was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cody won in the last seconds of the third round via TKO.
Cody had a very hard time against Henry Briones in UFC 189. On July 11, 2015, after three very interesting rounds, No Love won via unanimous decision.
Cody Garbrandt and Augusto Mendes faced in UFC Fight Night 83, on February 21, 2016. It was a Catchweight (142 lbs) fight since Mendes missed weight. Despite everybody was expecting a real war, Cody ended the fight after only 4:18 in the first round via TKO!
No Love was great against at the moment undefeated Thomas Almeida, a BJJ black belt. The two fought in UFC Fight Night 88, on May 29, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the main event of the evening. Cody successfully kept the fight standing and knocked his opponent out in the first round after a series of short-range punches and hammer fists on the ground.

Cody Garbrandt Vs Dominick Cruz – UFC 207 Title Shot
Dana White had a tough job on the weigh-in since Garbrandt and Cruz were really throwing heavy words on each other. They even wanted to fight and other people had to interfere and stop the bigger incident.
The two faced on December 30th, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was five rounds of world-class boxing and wrestling. Cody Garbrandt rocked Dominick Cruz many times and even sent him four times to the ground, but Cruz miraculously stood up and continued the fight every time. Cruz had a cut under the left eye, but this didn’t stop him to finish the fight.
During the fight, Cody was constantly provoking Cruz, and the fight will be remembered as one with the highest amount of trash talk ever. Cody Garbrandt demonstrated outstanding punch avoiding skills too. Both participants received Performance Of The Night bonus.
Cody wrapped his bantamweight belt around cancer survivor and a good friend of his, Maddux Maple. The two met before Cody Garbrandt even fought in the UFC. No Love promised the belt to his inspiration and friend, and he fulfilled the promise as soon as the referee announced the winner.
Cody Garbrandt Vs TJ Dillashaw – UFC 217 Title Loss
The two should face in UFC 213 on 8th July 2017, but Garbrandt had a back injury and the fight was scrapped. UFC officials were pushing the fight back for four months. TJ had to wait for nearly a year to put his hands on his former teammate-turned-rival, but he said it was worth of it.
Cody stated he was ready to move past TJ Dillashaw a week before the fight. Despite a previous incident, he claimed he respects him as a fighter and as a human, but he also claimed TJ is a piece of sh*t. No Love was very confident before the fight.
At the weigh-in, Cody was looking at Dillashaw aggressively, while TJ was only laughing. Cody Garbrandt claimed TJ will never be the champion and he will be chasing his belt as long as he is in the division.
The two faced on 4th November 2017, in New York City, New York, in the co-main event of the evening. But as soon as the fight started, TJ successfully kept Garbrandt on distance with his kicks, not letting him get close enough to deliver a punch. Cody rocked his opponent midway through the first round. Then a right cross almost ended the fight few seconds before the end of the first round, but Dillashaw was “saved by the bell”.
No Love received a strong left high kick in the beginning of the second round and he was rocked. Not long after it, one strong right hook landed to Cody’s chin and he fell to the ground. Dillashaw continued landing hooks on the ground and Cody Garbrandt was defeated via TKO.
Cody Garbrandt vs TJ Dillashaw might be a potential fight on the UFC 222, but TJ turned it down. He said he was taking some time off after the birth of his first child. When Cody attacked him on social networks, he said Cody should wait while Kai is born.

Cody is married to his wife Danny since July 2017. His son Kai should be born in March 2018.
