- A 48-year-old fighter upset her younger opponent via submission
- She is also a mother of three children who has been yearning to pursue an MMA career
A 48-year-old female fighter and mother stunningly submitted her opponent in her debut at OKTAGON MMA.
Still deadly at 48
OKTAGON 66 turned out to be a spectacle from start to finish. In the early prelims, 48-year-old Danielle Misteli already got the crowd on the edge of their seats after she tapped Sara Luzar Smajic via rear-naked choke in the second round.
The sensational win saw “The Housewife” making headlines, considering the 19-year age difference between her and Smajic.

A mother and an MMA enthusiast
Misteli has long been a huge fan of MMA. However, she has put her dreams of pursuing an MMA career aside to raise her three children. Now that they are all grown up, “The Housewife” finally had the opportunity to do what she truly loves, notably saying she “felt free to embrace her passion for MMA.”
As it stands, Misteli is now on a two-fight winning streak, having won via decision in her last fight against Nora Weeg at We Love MMA 72. She now has a pro MMA record of 4-4.
Indeed, Misteli’s win was quite a way to silence those who have written her off because of her age.
