Daniel Cormier Participating In New ESPN+ Programming

UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier teased a big announcement earlier today. However, he didn’t keep us waiting long, as the news came out a few hours later.

Daniel Cormier is set to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 242, in what could be his final fight. Even if this one is not the last, the end is near for DC. Yet, he seems to have his post-UFC career in the bag. Additionally, he took to Twitter today teasing more bigger news.

That news, it seems, is that Daniel Cormier will be participating in a new program on ESPN+. The show, called Detail, will feature Cormier breaking down footage of fighters. According to a Twitter post from Marc Raimondi, this project comes from NBA star Kobe Bryant.

According to the report, Cormier will first feature Amanda Nunes. He will break down footage of her fights, leading up to her UFC 239 co-main event fight against Holly Holm. Cormier took to Instagram to speak on this big news.

“I am happy to announce that I am now doing Detail, this puts me in some elite company. Kobe Bryant and Peyton Manning are the only other two athletes with a detail series. Fight analysis and breaking down some of the greatest athletes in the world to the finest, smallest detail. I am truly blessed, and none of this would be possible if not for all the love and support that you guys all show me. I could not have imagined this would be my life. I’m just a kid from the northside of Lafayette, Louisiana thank you all so much. I start with Amanda Nunes on Monday on ESPN+ Tune in.”

If this type of thing is what Daniel Cormier does after retirement, we won’t complain. Few people deserve this as much as he does.
