My mom gave birth to me at a young age, so she thought it would be a good idea to name me after her favorite actor. Alas, that actor was Nicolas Cage, and while he has had many great roles, he’s also been part of a lot of really terrible movies. Every once in a while though, he lands a part that is perfect for him and when he does, he really shines. In Kick-Ass Cage played Big Daddy, who ended up being surprisingly awesome. This was largely due to Cage’s interesting take on the character. He was almost like a parody of Adam West’s Batman with the violent tendencies of The Punisher and it worked out better than anyone could have imagined.
Unfortunately Big Daddy will not be making an appearance in Kick-Ass 2, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of colorful characters to round out the cast this time. Check out this new red band trailer to meet some the new heroes and villains in the upcoming film (Warning: possibly NSFW)
