Sunday Wrasslin’ Fix; Moar Lucha, Del Rio and Survivor Series Tonight

Tonight is WWE’s Survivor Series PPV, which will be airing live on the WWE Network. Oh yeah, the WWE Network is free to new subscribers in November, so if you live in a place that gets the Network and don’t have it, sign up for Survivor Series tonight and watch a PPV for free. Is it going to be the best PPV? Probably not, but still, it’s free, right?

I was in dental work hell all this last week, so no, I didn’t do a big, long Survivor Series preview, but if you really want to get amped up for the whole damned thing, check out our bud Aubrey Sitterson’s Straight Shoot preview with Sam Roberts.

I gotta do it again, I gotta extoll the virtues of Lucha Underground. It might not be burning up the ratings charters on El Rey Network, but when it airs on Unimas it gets in the range of like 200,000 – 300,000 viewers. It doesn’t matter how many people watch it, though, it matters that it’s really good. It’s fresh, it’s new and the narrative, while a bit goofy, feels really fun to watch week-in and week-out.

This week they posted a video from Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr. and man, it was a fun little match. One of my favorite moments comes at about 5:30, when Pentagon hops over Fenix in the corner and goes for a double chickenwing lungblower, which was almost like a Tiger Suplex lungblower. I dunno, it was weird but really cool, I’ve never seen that before.

Have you missed Alberto Del Rio? If so, check out El Patron Alberto in AAA teaming up with El Mesias against Perrito and Texano Jr.
