Social media sensation True Geordie has issued a heartfelt apology to former kickboxer Andrew Tate for insulting his conversion to Islam.

Tate first gained attention as a four-time world kickboxing champion. He quickly amassed a vast following on social media and became the most Googled person on the planet, ahead of the likes of Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian. His controversial takes on numerous issues, especially on topics relating to women, got him banned from most mainstream digital platforms.

Geordie, real name Brian Davis, made headlines with his popular podcast show on YouTube. Last week, Davis suggested Tate should “blow himself up” to prove his conversion to Islam. Geordie faced criticism from the community for his message and had his partnership with Gym Shark terminated due to the insensitive statements.

True Geordie issues apology to Andrew Tate: ‘It was a joke’

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, True Geordie apologized to Tate for the racist comments he made regarding his conversion to Islam.

“I made a very stupid comment last week on a livestream which has upset a lot of people. I want to say sorry, please watch this guys as I mean every word. ”

“I made a joke in questioning that ‘newfound faith’ of his, that conveniently comes at a time when he needs as many supporters as he can get. It was a stupid joke,” said Geordie (transcribed by Mirror). “When I say that out loud, when I’m aware of it, f***ing horrendous. It was one of those off-the-cuff remarks I made with a total lack of thought, and I used an unrealistic stereotype to take aim at someone who seriously dislikes me.

“Obviously I don’t believe that’s what Muslims actually do. It was a very stupid thing to say. It was an idiotic joke – one I’m sorry for.”

Tate had fired back at Geordie for his comments

Andrew Tate had delivered a fiery response to Geordie after coming across his comments online. Although he was never a fan of the Brit, Tate went as far as to say it was personal between the two and cautioned him about the consequences.

“Making f***ing racist comments about an entire religion as if that’s somehow funny. Let me tell you something my friend, and True Geordie if you are watching this, this is a message directly to you. There are certain times in life when you need to know when to shut the f*** up.

“But to insult my religion, and the religion of billions of people across the f**king planet, making ignorant jokes about blowing ourselves up, thinking it’s gonna go without consequence, you’re gonna learn very quickly my friend that was a mistake.”

Geordie went viral last week for his heated interview with former boxing world champion Tyson Fury. He received immense support for pressing Fury on the hard questions and keeping his cool against the riled-up heavyweight. However, it appears Tate’s ominous message came true for the YouTube star as his celebrity crashed right after insulting Tate.
