Elon Musk is still interested in a bout against Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine this year in February, Musk issued a challenge to Putin online to face off inside the octagon in a mixed martial arts contest. UFC commentator Joe Rogan even offered to train the richest man in the world to prepare for the fight. Although Putin didn’t respond to Musk, the Tesla CEO believes the clash would do incredible numbers.
Elon Musk thinks a fight with Vladimir Putin could ‘pay for the wall’
In an appearance on the Full Send podcast, Musk discussed his callout of the Russian President.
“Well, I did challenge Vladimir Putin to one-on-one single combat. I’m not sure he’s my biggest enemy but I did challenge him to this on Twitter. Listen, the pay-per-view alone would pay for the wall.”
When asked if he thought he could take on Putin, Musk responded that he wasn’t too sure himself but feels like it’s an idea worth exploring.
“I don’t know, I think it would be an interesting question because he’s good at martial arts. He’s pretty buff, you see those pictures of him on a horse and stuff. It would be an interesting fight. I do have a bit of a weight advantage. He has won judo championships and stuff so he’s pretty good.”

Musk reveals his signature move to beat Putin
Challenging a country’s leader doesn’t sound like a good idea, but Musk thinks he has a good chance to beat Putin with his signature move.
“I’m probably 50 percent heavier than him. If you’ve got a big weight advantage, that can overcome a lot of technique. I have a move called ‘the walrus,’ which I used on a friend of mine who’s actually, she’s like very agile and whatnot.
“But I was like, ‘let me explain to you why there are weight classes in MMA. I’m going to use a move called the walrus, where I just lie on you, and you can’t get away. If you’re big enough with the weight advantage, you just use the walrus move, you just lie on them and that’s the whole move.”
It’s unlikely we will get to see Musk square off opposite Putin. It wouldn’t hurt for him to improve his fitness levels in case the day might come.
