Wladimir Klitschko praised Oleksandr Usyk for pulling off a masterclass performance in his rematch with Tyson Fury.

Usyk just needed to repeat it

Speaking to Seconds Out, “Dr. Steelhammer” raved about how his compatriot managed to outwork “The Gypsy King” again en route to a decision victory. Klitschko pointed out that he has been telling people that Usyk just needed to repeat everything he did in the first match and that’s exactly what happened.

“As I previously said and mentioned in other interviews, there was going to be repetition,” Klitschko said. “That’s what I expected to happen. Repetition of the first match is what I expected and it was exactly that; Oleksandr is a true legend and a champion. We are so lucky to have him in Ukraine.”

Klitschko says no to Usyk vs. Dubois 2

Another notable opponent that Usyk could take on for a rematch is Fury’s fellow Brit Daniel Dubois, whom he stopped in their epic showdown back in August 2023. However, Klitschko believed there is nothing interesting in running it back with Dubois.

“I don’t think Oleksandr needs any repetition with Dubois,” he said. “That’s just my opinion.”

Usyk’s win saw him retaining his IBO, WBO and WBC heavyweight titles and improving his unbeaten pro boxing record to 23-0.
