Canelo Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin Had To Restrained During Heated Altercation
Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez will settle things inside the ring on Saturday night (Sept. 15, 2018) live on HBO pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The undefeated boxing champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) will defend his WBA (Super), WBC, and IBO middleweight titles in a rematch against Mexican Canelo Alvarez.
The unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez last fought back in 2017. The match went all 12 rounds, with many believed Golovkin smoothly took the fight on the judges’ scorecards. The controversial scorecards ended into a majority draw decision.
The rematch initially scheduled for May 5 earlier this year. However, the bout was scrapped off after Canelo Alvarez failed pair of drug tests and get suspended for six-month.
Both boxers stepped on the scales and made weight. After their weigh-ins, a heated moment came when “GGG” and Canelo faced off, and trash talked. Both men had to restrained during a heated altercation.
