Agit Kabayel returned to the ring in Germany for the first time in nearly three years, delivering a dominant performance on Saturday, January 10, 2025. The heavyweight champion stopped Damian Knyba in the third round at Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen to retain his title and impress fans at home.

Knyba started the fight strong, landing sharp jabs and combinations that tested Kabayel early. The challenger showed speed and timing in the opening rounds, making it clear Kabayel would need to adjust.

Kabayel Turns the Fight

By the third round, Kabayel found his range and began to take control. He landed precise, powerful shots that wore Knyba down, keeping constant pressure. With about 30 seconds left in the round, the referee stepped in to stop the fight, awarding Kabayel the TKO.

Some questioned the timing of the stoppage, noting that Knyba appeared alert and able to defend himself. However, the referee is in the best position to determine a fighter’s safety, and his decision finalized the outcome.

The victory improves Kabayel’s record to 27 wins and no losses, marking his sixth consecutive stoppage and the nineteenth knockout of his career. This dominant performance solidifies his position among top heavyweights and gives him a strong argument for a matchup with Oleksandr Usyk. Kabayel had previously impressed fans with a spectacular knockout over Zhilei Zhang earlier this year, adding momentum to his undefeated run.

For Knyba, the defeat ends his undefeated streak at seventeen wins, representing the first loss of his professional career after a strong start.
